Committee on Mesoscale Processes

Welcome to the webpage of the AMS Committee on Mesoscale Processes. The primary activity of this committee is to organize the Conference on Mesoscale Processes, which takes place in odd years.

Standby for an announcement regarding the 17th Conference on Mesoscale Processes, which will take place in the summer of 2017 (location TBD).

Topics covered at this meeting typically include (but are not limited to):

  • Organized moist convection
  • Gravity waves and turbulence
  • Orographic flows and rainfall
  • Tropical and extratropical cyclones
  • The diurnal cycle
  • Microphysics
  • Aerosol effects
