Post-Acceptance Information

Publications Charges

When a manuscript is accepted for publication the author must submit the Publications Charge form for BAMS or Journals. Once this form has been received, the manuscript will begin production.

Transfer of Copyright

Please refer to the Copyright information section.

Early Online Release

The final accepted version of the manuscript will be made available to journal subscribers on the Early Online Release website.  The manuscript will be posted about one week from the time AMS receives a copyright form signed by the corresponding author.  Authors who do not wish for the full manuscript to be available before copyediting and other processing has been completed can opt out of full posting (they will be able to indicate this choice when uploading their revision). Note that the title, abstract, corresponding author information, and full list of authors is still posted if authors choose the opt-out option.

Page Proofs

Authors should be aware that the receipt of page proofs is not a last-minute opportunity to rewrite the manuscript. Authors have an obligation to correct errors made by press and an opportunity to correct minor errors that were overlooked or that may have developed since submission of the final draft of the manuscript. Alterations that go beyond these limits, including substitution of black and white for color figures after acceptance, will require additional review by the scientific editor of the journal to ensure that the changes are acceptable for publication. Additional charges may also be assessed for excessive editing to typeset proofs.

This is the last opportunity authors will have to see their manuscript before publication. Editors reserve the right to accept or reject proposed alterations and make adjustments for adherence to AMS style.

Return of the proof signifies agreement to pay all publication charges (except for cases where a waiver has been granted).
