Ellen Klicka consults to the American Meteorological Society Policy Program on communications strategy, media relations, digital marketing and social media. She participates in communications activities supporting the AMS Commission on the Weather and Climate Enterprise, including the Washington Forum. Ellen manages a white paper program for the AMS Renewable Energy Committee that empowers industry with scientific knowledge. She helps lead AMS’s participation in Congressional Visit Days, including Geosciences Day and Climate Science Day on Capitol Hill. The Climate Literacy and Energy Awareness Network has called on Ellen to give presentations on social media best practices. She also has supported the AMS Policy Program policy study series and given presentations at the AMS Annual Meeting.
Before earning her MBA, Ellen held corporate communications and public relations management positions in the private sector. Most recently, Ellen served as public relations manager for a division of Thomson Reuters that manufactures enterprise software for the legal profession. At Thomson Reuters, she positioned the company as an industry leader and advised senior management on communications strategy. Previously, Ellen was a senior account executive at The Bohle Company, where she led public relations teams and served clients in the high-tech, consumer electronics, pharmaceutical and video game industries.
Ellen holds a Master of Business Administration degree from The George Washington University. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in brain and cognitive sciences from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
